Electrician London (NICEIC Reg 619783000) tests workplaces across central London and the inner boroughs — from single-floor SME offices to fitted-out HQ tenancies in the City, Canary Wharf and the West End. Office EICRs are deceptively complex: dedicated server-room circuits, UPS bypass, raised-floor cable management and hot-desking power risers all need separate consideration that a generic domestic-style inspection will miss.
We schedule Saturday and Sunday visits as standard so trading floors and call centres stay live during the week, and we issue the same-day digital certificate landlords and managing agents need before renewing your insurance schedule.
Why Electrician London
Server room & comms cabinet testing
Dedicated TP&N circuits to comms cabinets, in-rack PDUs, dual-feed redundancy — tested without dropping the network. We coordinate with your IT lead on the bypass plan before the visit.
UPS & bypass-aware inspection
Static and rotary UPS systems left protected throughout testing. We verify input/output, maintenance bypass and battery-circuit integrity without forcing a hard shutdown.
Raised floor & power risers
Cable-management under raised floors, hot-desking power posts and floor-box circuits inspected and coded — including condition of flexible whips and grommet glands.
Weekend testing, no premium
Standard Saturday and Sunday access, no overtime uplift for repeat managing-agent clients. Trading floors and customer-facing space stay live Monday morning.

How an office EICR runs
- 1
IT & FM pre-call
We agree the UPS bypass plan, server-room access window, fire-alarm isolation and out-of-hours building permits with your FM and IT lead.
- 2
Weekend inspection
Saturday or Sunday visit. Board-by-board isolation so one zone is offline at a time — typically 30–60 minutes per board.
- 3
Coding & remedials
C1 / C2 isolated and made safe on the spot. Written remedial quote returned with the certificate the same day.
- 4
Monday-morning hand back
Everything re-energised, server room and UPS confirmed healthy. Certificate emailed before staff return Monday.
Frequently asked questions
Can you test our office without taking the server room down?
Yes — we work around UPS and dual-feed redundancy. For single-feed comms rooms we agree a maintenance bypass window with your IT lead before the visit; in most cases the network stays live throughout.
Do you work weekends and bank holidays?
Yes — Saturday and Sunday office testing is our default for trading offices and call centres. There is no overtime premium for repeat managing-agent or FM clients.
How long does an EICR take for a typical London office floor?
A 5,000–10,000 sq ft fitted floor with a single sub-board typically takes 6–8 hours including the comms-room circuits. Larger HQs across multiple floors we plan over two weekends.
Do you handle managing-agent compliance packs?
Yes — we issue the certificate plus a remedial schedule, photo evidence and a covering letter formatted for the major London managing agents (Savills, JLL, CBRE, Knight Frank).
How often does an office EICR need renewing?
Five years is the standard interval under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989. Many City head-leases and commercial insurers now require 3-year testing — we follow whichever is sooner.
Will you sign off our fit-out alterations at the same time?
Yes — minor works certificates for desk alterations, new floor boxes or comms-room additions can be issued alongside the EICR in a single mobilisation if scope is agreed in advance.
