Electrician London is an NICEIC Approved Contractor (Reg 619783000) delivering commercial EICRs across all London postcodes. Whether you're renewing insurance, satisfying a lease clause, or meeting your five-year duty under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, we issue a clear, BS 7671 compliant report with C1/C2/C3/FI coding and a same-day digital certificate.

Our engineers are JIB Gold Card carded, three-phase competent and used to scheduled out-of-hours work for tenants who can't trade during testing.

Frequently asked questions

How often does a commercial EICR need to be renewed in London?

Most commercial premises are tested every 5 years. Higher-risk environments (industrial sites, public buildings, leisure facilities with pools) are tested every 3 years. Your insurer or lease may specify a shorter interval — we follow whichever is sooner.

Is a commercial EICR a legal requirement?

Under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 you have a duty to keep electrical installations safe — an EICR is the standard way to demonstrate that. Most commercial insurers and lease agreements treat a current EICR as mandatory.

Will testing interrupt our trading hours?

We schedule out-of-hours visits at no weekend premium for repeat commercial clients. For trading premises we test board-by-board so only one zone is offline at a time — typically 30–60 minutes per board.

What do C1, C2, C3 and FI mean on the report?

C1 = danger present, immediate action required. C2 = potentially dangerous, urgent remedial. C3 = improvement recommended (not a fail). FI = further investigation required. Only C1 and C2 codes make an installation "unsatisfactory".

Do you fix the remedials too?

Yes — we can quote and complete remedials the same week, often the same day for C1/C2 issues. Many landlords bundle EICR + remedial in one visit to avoid a re-inspection fee.

Do you cover three-phase installations?

Yes — TP&N boards, sub-mains, distribution and large commercial loads are routine. Our engineers carry the calibrated test gear and three-phase competence to certify them.
